Asparagus is our earliest crop. It is available in May & June and is also the first Ontario grown crop available every spring. We grow the very best varieties of this healthy treat near Tillsonburg, Ontario, and you can find it under the Thwaites Farms label in Loblaw stores across Ontario.
Yellow plums are available in July, and can be found in stores across Central & Eastern Canada under the Vineland Brand. Every year we harvest millions of these sweet and tangy bite-sized plums at the perfect maturity, and deliver them in the shortest time possible to a store near you.
Peaches are our original crop. We have been picking this fuzzy fruit since 1925. They are available in stores under the Vineland Brand from July through mid-September. Whether you like eating a fresh peach, one for canning or making jam, an Ontario peach will definitely fit the bill.
A new, but a very important, crop to us is nectarines. They are almost exactly the same as peaches, just without the fuzz. Nectarines are becoming very popular with people who find the fuzz of a peach too itchy. Ontario Nectarines are available August and September and again under the Vineland Brand.
When thinking Ontario fruit one does not often think of seedless grapes, but mid August through September we produce a deliciously sweet blue seedless grape. These juicy berries have the great taste of concords but without all the pesky seeds. You can find these at your local store under the Vineland Brand.
Pears are a new addition to our lineup of fruit. They are available starting in September and throughout the fall. New varieties have made it possible to have a more reliable and consistent pear crop available every year, and disease resistance has allowed us to reduce the pesticide usage. New training systems also allow us to grow more product per acre, which is beneficial to feed a growing population with local reduced carbon footprint.
We grow a large variety of grapes for the wine industry in Ontario. Chardonnay, Merlot, and Gewürztraminer, to name a few, get harvested every fall and delivered to wineries across Ontario.
